This project started with the documentary The True Cost.

After watching it, I couldn't look at my own closet the same way — every cheap, barely-worn piece suddenly had a factory, a landfill, a person behind it.

So I bought no new fabric. I unravelled, re-knotted and rebuilt discarded clothes and leftover textiles into new garments by hand. The two hashtags on the lookbook — #PleaseLoveMe and #WhoMadeMyClothes — were the whole thesis in two lines.

It was 2016 and I was still a student. I couldn't fix the industry, but I learned that a garment can ask a question — and that people answer.
